The 227 Project is a DBA of Humanizing the Badge, Inc.  Since early 2016, we have developed a team of mental health and peer support professionals who provide confidential online support to first responders and their family members upon request.  This program is supported exclusively through the generous donations of followers of the Humanizing the Badge social media pages and the fundraising efforts of our team members.

The 227 Project is inspired by the badge number (227) of Corporal Matthew Edwards, a police officer killed in the line of duty on July 23, 2010. Corporal Edwards was both a decorated officer and a committed Christian. In honor of his memory, The 227 Project provides spiritual support and self-help information to members of the public safety community and their families.
